Gwent League
A super day at Swansea last Sunday (4.12.11). Really muddy underfoot, squalls of rain, trouble in getting the tent up[again!],....all far outweighed by a great performance by all, super flapjack and date cake hugger-mugger in the tent afterwards, and a diversion to Joe's Ice Cream Parlour on the way home for the more indulgent.
Senior Ladies Lisa Cleary, Andrea Hurman, Rachel Harris, Yvonne Williams, Eleri Connor and Judy Maragna ran strongly and stylishly and are now 4th of 12 in Division 2.
The Senior Men couldn't quite muster a full team...shame on you fella's back at the ranch.....but quality did its best and Clem Clement, Steve Morath, Chris Nellins and Rhodri Evans ran well to leave us now 4th of 11 teams in Division 3.
A bit of a respite now until the next fixture at Brecon in February, so mull on how you can still get a couple of great Gwent League races in before the end of the series as you down your Christmas tipple, and make it your Number One New Year's Resolution to be there.
Happy running,
Message from Jof and Helene (22nd November 2011)

Also to Yvonne Williams for being selected as reserve for the W55 Team for the cross Country international in Glasgow! Very well done to you all!

On Friday 14th October we held a skittles evening and invited people from the two charities we supported this year, Helen Watts from MIND in the Vale and Paul & Nicola Adamson from the JAM Fund. Both received cheques for £250 and both were delighted with the contributions to their charities. It is great that we are able to make these donations and contribute to the community around us. It is however the work of all the membership who marshal, time keep, put together results and hand out information on our events that make this possible and therefore something that we should all be proud of.
